Robyn Cove Ceramicist
“The focus of my pottery is that it functions. The aim is that the pots fit well in the hands and become an extension of the user’s own body. To me, pottery is a symbol of both emotional and physical nourishment.” Robyn Cove
Originally from Scotland, Robyn Cove settled in Wales after completing her degree in ceramics from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2008. Robyn’s tableware pieces are predominantly hand-thrown on the wheel with her larger pots and figurative pieces made using a slower-paced, coiling technique. Her pottery forms are often expressively glazed or textured, giving a nod towards a rustic, mid-twentieth century aesthetic with inspiration drawn from the Japanese tea ceremony tradition.
