About the Maker

Jennifer Hall works from her North Pembrokeshire studio making slip decorated earthenware for the table and oven which sits well in both contemporary and rustic settings.
After graduating from Cardiff Institute of Higher Education in 1994, Jennifer worked for Pru Green at Gwili Pottery, Carmarthenshire where she developed her skills in production throwing, slip decorating, sponging and brushwork. Going on to establish the first of her own studio potteries in 1997.Â
Jennifer throws domestic earthenware in small batches on a geared kick wheel. Her pots are decorated with slips and oxides using a combination of slip trailing, brushwork and sgraffito techniques.
Jennifer is drawn to earthenware for its warmth of colour and softness of edge. Her ongoing aim is to continue to develop a comprehensive range of tableware that enlivens the rituals surrounding food and drink. Her pots are intentionally easy to live with; they appeal to the eye, sit comfortably in the hand and are gentle on the lips. They are also oven and dishwasher safe.
Jennifer’s work has been exhibited throughout the UK and Japan.
