About the Maker
Patia Davis’ flatware plates and dishes are suitable for use in the oven or microwave. This is due to the addition of a fine sand and grog mix into the clay for the purpose of making them more thermally robust.
Handthrown mugs, jars and jugs are not ovenware and are best suited to serving or storing food and drink.
Although Patia’s pieces may withstand the occasional dishwasher cycle, hand washing is always recommended to keep your piece in prime condition. Please note that forcing pottery from a hot temperature into cold can cause thermal shock and result in your pottery cracking so is best avoided.

Patia Davis Ceramicist
Herefordshire potter, Patia Davis specialises in functional, slip decorated earthenware and high-fired ash and feldspathic glazed porcelain pieces. These pieces, wheel-thrown or slab built, are decorated with unique glazing techniques to create surface patterns which have become distinctively her own.
“My Earthenware pieces often begin with the clay as the canvas – working slip wet into wet, layer upon layer of pours, drips, trails, feathering, and brush marks with intensity and speed. The joy of being a little more out of control, freer in process has come about in part by using tin cans for trailing slip on both earthenware and porcelain. Ideas are allowed to become something else by the very nature of pouring out the slip through a fine slit, the result being looked at again and thought about afresh; worked on if exciting or cast aside.” Patia Davis
Tutored by renowned British potter, Michael Casson during her years of training at Harrow and Cardiff, post-graduation Patia was invited to join the team at Wobage and where her studio is still based today.
