Sophie Elm is a printmaker, illustrator and studio potter based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Sophie studied illustration at Edinburgh College of Art and uses this background to design and create a hand crafted collection of illustrative prints and studio pottery. All with a strong bold colour palette and playful yet elegant use of pattern and typography. Sophie uses mostly traditional printing methods, hand burnishing her linocuts as well as screen printing and modern riso processes. There is a strong horticultural theme throughout all her work, from spades and greenhouses so dahlias and radishes!

Three coloured linocut print depicting a little pot, decorated with Eric Ravilious’ Persephone pattern, filled with primroses. Hand burnished using a wooden baren and spoon and oil based inks for longevity and vibrant colour.

Limited edition of 50 prints, signed and editioned by the artist.

Printed in Sophie’s home studio in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
