An extra wide, woven fabric with a classic ticking stripe design. Suitable for curtains and blinds.
Please note that this fabric is railroaded which means the stripes run horizontally from selvedge to selvedge (see 4th image) but the fabric is designed to be used as a vertical stripe.Â
A unique characteristic of this base cloth is the evidence of small slubs and flecks of cotton seed within the weave. This is inherent to the fabric and should not be considered a flaw.
Extra Wide Fabrics can be very economical for large windows and doors that require a lot of fabric. Being twice as wide, from selvedge to selvedge, of the standard width of furnishing fabrics (approx. 140cm), opting for an Extra Wide Fabric (approx. 280cm) will save time and effort usually spent joining widths.
