Angie Lewin Artist, Printmaker and Textile Designer

Angie Lewin studied BA (Hons) Fine Art Printmaking at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, followed by a year’s postgraduate printmaking at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts.

Angie Lewin specialises in botanical studies, spending a lot of time outdoors sketching in watercolour inspired by skeletal plant forms and the landscape of the Scottish Highlands. These sketches are the basis for limited edition lino, wood-engraving and litho prints.

Her textile designs are inspired by this intense study of plant structures and are printed in the UK by St. Jude’s, a company she founded with her husband Simon. St. Jude’s works with a small group of printmakers producing and promoting their fabrics and wallpapers.

Angie Lewin is a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Print makers and of The Society of Wood Engravers.

Limited edition prints by Angie Lewin are on display in our showroom and in the Artist Prints page of this website.

The Book of Garden Flowers by Christopher Stocks & Angie Lewin

£16.99

Christopher Stocks tells the fascinating tales of nineteen cultivated flowers and their journeys from distant corners of the world to British gardens, illustrated by the painter and printmaker Angie Lewin in this charming companion guide.

The Book of Garden Flowers builds on the success of Angie Lewin’s and Christopher Stocks’ previous collaborations; The Book of Wild Flowers (Thames & Hudson, 2024) andThe Book of Pebbles (Thames & Hudson, 2020.) While The Book of Wild Flowers explored the natural history of Britain’s favourite wild species, The Book of Garden Flowers is more a social history, bringing into focus some of the remarkable people who introduced exotic plants to our gardens from around the globe.
