Angie Lewin Artist, Printmaker and Textile Designer

Angie Lewin studied BA (Hons) Fine Art Printmaking at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, followed by a year’s postgraduate printmaking at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts.

Angie Lewin specialises in botanical studies, spending a lot of time outdoors sketching in watercolour inspired by skeletal plant forms and the landscape of the Scottish Highlands. These sketches are the basis for limited edition lino, wood-engraving and litho prints.

Her textile designs are inspired by this intense study of plant structures and are printed in the UK by St. Jude’s, a company she founded with her husband Simon. St. Jude’s works with a small group of printmakers producing and promoting their fabrics and wallpapers.

Angie Lewin is a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Print makers and of The Society of Wood Engravers.

Limited edition prints by Angie Lewin are on display in our showroom and in the Artist Prints page of this website.

The Book of Wildflowers by Christopher Stocks and Angie Lewin

£16.99

Illustrator Angie Lewin and author Christopher Stocks follow up the success of The Book of Pebbles with The Book of Wild Flowers, a celebration of British wild flowers and their place in the landscape.

Christopher Stocks explores their beguiling and sometimes peculiar history, and reveals some of the best places to see them, as well as the conditions in which they thrive. Designed in a similar format to The Book of Pebbles, it focuses on around 21 of Lewin’s favourite wild flowers, and includes reproductions of her paintings and illustrations, many of them created specially for the book.

The Book of Wild Flowers will appeal to anyone who loves British wild flowers, as well as fans of Angie Lewin, who is widely admired for her alluring images of the natural world.
